A-203Remodeling & outdoor living

Remodeling that respects the house — and the people in it.

Whole-home renovations, additions, kitchens and baths, and the outdoor rooms Florida was made for: pool remodels, pergolas and summer kitchens. We keep the job clean and the house livable while we work.

Renovations & additions

From a single room to a full-house renovation, and additions that look like they were always there. We open the walls carefully, because forty years of Florida houses have taught us what is usually behind them.

02 · Kitchens & baths

The rooms that sell a house to the family that already owns it

New layouts, cabinetry, tile, stone and lighting — working with the same showrooms we trust for our custom homes, so the finish level matches the rest of the house.

03 · Outdoor living

Pool remodels, pergolas, summer kitchens

Covered lanais with outdoor kitchens and bars, cypress pergolas, resurfaced pools and new decks. The Florida rooms you will actually use nine months of the year.

Restoration, done right.

Some of our proudest work is not new. Under the vinyl siding of a 1985 home, Kurt found the original stucco — and Great Oaks stripped the house down and restored it like new.

Questions owners ask.

Q-01Can we live in the house during the remodel?+

In most cases, yes. We plan the sequence around the rooms you need, keep the site clean at the end of every day, and tell you in advance about the few days when a room will be out of service.

Q-02Do you take on small projects?+

Yes — from a small-scale remodel to a total renovation. We would rather build a relationship over a bathroom than turn away a neighbor.

Q-03Who pulls the permits?+

We do, as the licensed general contractor. Permitting, inspections and the paperwork are part of the job, not something we hand back to you.

Q-04Can you help us with design and selections?+

Yes. We work with the kitchen, bath, flooring, tile and interior showrooms we use on our custom homes, and we will walk the selections with you so the pieces fit together.

Q-05Do you remodel pools and build outdoor kitchens?+

Yes. Pool remodels, covered lanais, summer kitchens, outdoor bars, cypress pergolas and decks are a large part of what we do.

What would you change about the house?

Tell us what is not working. We will look at what is behind the walls before we tell you what it takes.
